Wrexham have confirmed that midfielder Elliot Lee was involved in a road traffic collision after Tuesday night's EFL Trophy match.

Lee had been returning home from the Stok Racecourse after helping his side beat Bolton 1-0.

"The incident involved one other car and resulted in the drivers of both cars being taken to hospital," the club said in a statement.

"The player suffered no major injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle is being treated for their injuries."

North Wales Police have been asked to comment.

Only last month Wrexham's captain James McClean was involved in a collision.

The former Republic of Ireland international was making his way to training on 22 January when the single vehicle accident happened near to Wrexham golf club.

McClean suffered no serious injuries.
