Tranmere sign ex-Everton midfielder Whitaker

Charlie Whitaker helped Notts County reach last season's League Two play-offs

Tranmere Rovers have signed former Everton and Notts County midfielder Charlie Whitaker on a two-year deal ahead of the 2025-26 League Two season.

The 21-year-old spent nine years with the Toffees and before joining Notts in January on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Whitaker scored four goals for Notts County in 21 appearances for the club before leaving at the end of his deal.

"I'm really excited. I've spoken to the gaffer and I'm just really excited with the ambitions of the club. Hopefully I can help with that and push the team to where they need to be," he told the club website.

"I know it's a really big club, the fans want hard work from you and they expect that every game. I'll give 110% every time I'm on the pitch."
