Plymouth have signed Danish defender Mathias Ross on a three-year deal.
Ross, 24, most recently played in the Turkish league for 25-time champions Galatasaray, for whom he managed just two appearances in three seasons.
The Danish youth international spent last season on loan at Sparta Prague and featured in their Champions League campaign, after a previous loan spell at Dutch side NEC Nijmegen.
Argyle manager Tom Cleverley said he was "delighted" with the club's 12th signing of the summer.
"Mathias joins with excellent pedigree having played plenty of games at a high level, considering he is still only 24," Cleverley told the club website, external.
"He will complement our squad perfectly and challenge our current defenders for a place in the team.
"I want to welcome him to Argyle and look forward to seeing him in action very soon."
Ross will wear the number two shirt, and the deal is subject to a work permit, EFL approval and international clearance.
