Manchester United youngster Harry Amass is close to completing a season-long loan with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

Amass has been lined up for a loan move this season following the arrival of Paraguay Under-20 international Diego Leon.

He was omitted from Ruben Amorim's squad for their pre-season trips to Sweden and the United States despite making seven first-team appearances last term.

Numerous clubs were interested in the 18-year-old but United were keen to ensure Amass got the best chance of regular starts.

It is felt Wednesday offer that and the current disputes around owner Dejphon Chansiri are not an issue as United will ensure Amass' wages are covered.

On Friday, the former Watford trainee was selected in the England Under-19 squad for a triple header of matches against Ukraine, Spain and Netherlands during the international break.
