Fleetwood Town have agreed a new two-year contract with defender Shaun Rooney until the summer of 2027.
The Scottish defender returned to Highbury in January on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Since then, he has played 17 games and scored two goals and he will remain part of Pete Wild's squad for next season.
Fleetwood are currently 13th in League Two with just four matches remaining.
This is Rooney's second spell at Fleetwood, having spent two seasons with the club between 2022 and 2024 in which he played 80 games.
He returned to Scotland last summer to join St Mirren, but he was released in October after being suspended in the wake of an assault charge, before returning to his old club as a free agent.
