Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has returned to training before their Premier League fixture with Leicester City on Sunday.

The 26-year-old England international has been absent since he sustained an ankle injury in Liverpool's Champions League last-16 defeat by Paris St-Germain in March.

Reds boss Arne Slot previously said he expected Alexander-Arnold to be back before the end of the season, but did not put a specific timeframe on when he might be available.

Alexander-Arnold's return from injury comes as uncertainty over his future at Anfield continues.

Sources have previously told BBC Sport that Alexander-Arnold, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is in advanced talks with Real Madrid over a free transfer to the Bernabeu.

Premier League leaders Liverpool are currently 13 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with six matches of the season remaining.

They could win their 20th top-flight title with a win at Leicester, but would need Arsenal to lose to Ipswich earlier on Sunday.
