Peterborough United will be looking to move striker Bradley Ihionvien on this summer, manager Darren Ferguson has said.

The 21-year-old was signed from Colchester United last August on a three-year contract.

But he has only made 11 appearances in League One, six of them from the bench, and his only two goals came in the EFL Trophy.

"Bradley's not part of the future," Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"I've got to make decisions and that's one I've made. Sometimes moves don't come off."

Posh instead chose to include 16-year-old forward Bolo Shofowoke on the bench for Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers, and he was given his debut just before the end of the game.

"He's a young kid that we like, he's been scoring a lot of goals in the 18s. There's been injuries to (David) Kamara and people like that so there was an opportunity to get him on the bench and I felt with five minutes to go, why not put him on?" added Ferguson.

"If you're going to put him on the bench, get him on the pitch."

The Scot is braced for more departures from the Weston Homes Stadium this summer with Hector Kyrpianou, who scored one of the goals in their 2-0 EFL Trophy final win over Birmingham City at Wembley, Kwame Poku and Rick Jade-Jones among those likely to leave.

"There'll be loads of clubs in for Poku, I would expect, Hector and Ricky the same. them. It just emphasises what we do at this club," added Ferguson.

"Since we played the play-off against Oxford (last season), we've now got two players left. It just shows what we're about and we've got to find a way of replacing them.

"Whether we see all three (again this season), I don't know but they are still members of the squad. I've got to be careful with Ricky and Kwame, we don't want them getting injuries. I've got to be sensible."
