Newport County have signed striker Ged Garner on a two-year contract following his release by Barrow.

Garner, 26, is the League Two club's third signing under new manager David Hughes, following the arrival of Wales midfielder Matt Smith and New Zealand goalkeeper Nik Tzanev.

Former Liverpool academy player Garner spent nearly seven years at Fleetwood Town, before moving to Barrow in January 2023.

In the past two seasons he has had two loan spells at Morecambe.

"This is another really good signing for us," said County boss Hughes.

"He's a player who can add to our top line and our link up play which will be important for us going forward.

"He's an excellent professional who conducts himself the right way and I'm really pleased to have Ged on board."
