Manchester United youngster Dan Gore is closing in on a return to fitness.

Gore joined League One Rotherham on loan during the winter transfer window and impressed on his debut at Birmingham on 1 February.

However, the England youth international suffered a foot injury in training that triggered his return to United for treatment.

It is still to be decided whether Gore will go through the final stages of his recovery at United or go back to south Yorkshire.

But it is anticipated he will be fit before the end of the season.

Rotherham still have nine games remaining of a campaign that ends against Peterborough on 3 May.

Gore's United contract is due to expire in 2026, meaning it is likely United will decide on the 20-year-old's long-term future in the summer.

The midfielder made two senior appearances as a substitute in the 2023-24 campaign but has not made the breakthrough that was hoped at the time.
