Jersey Bulls have added two former professional players to their ranks.

Jersey-born forward Kurtis Guthrie returns to the island 14 years after leaving while Scottish midfielder Paul McKay has also joined the club.

Guthrie, 31, played for the likes of Accrington Stanley, Forest Green Rovers, Colchester United, Stevenage, Bradford City and Port Vale.

Meanwhile McKay, 28, has just moved to the island after a career that began with Doncaster Rovers and included stints at Leeds United, Cardiff City, Airdrieonians, Queen of the South and Clyde.

The pair could make their debuts against Cobham in Combined Counties Premier South on Saturday at Springfield.

Bulls are currently third in the table having lost just once in the league all season, with games in hand on the sides above them.

"Kurtis is certainly going to add a lot of quality on the pitch, but it's the bits the fans don't see, like how he passes his wisdom on in training, " Bulls manager Elliot Powell told BBC Sport.

"It's the one percent's that we hope he can add in abundance - I experienced that with Peter Vincenti coming back to St Peter when we went from a side that finished fourth to becoming champions.

"Paul's been something that's been in the pipeline for a bit of time - his partner's relocated to Jersey due to work.

"He's retired from professional football with Clyde at the age of 28, he's got six months before he becomes a football agent, so it's really import we can get him in.

"At 28 he's got a lot to give and he was outstanding in training this week."
