Barrow club captain Niall Canavan has agreed a new contract to stay with the club until the summer of 2026.
Canavan had a deal until the end of this season, but he has now signed on for one more year.
The central defender, 33, joined Barrow from fellow League Two side Bradford City in January 2022 and has gone on to play 123 times for the Bluebirds.
He told the club's website, external: "I’m really happy to get it all sorted ahead of time and to get that solidarity and stability, and I’m just looking forward to continuing moving forward with the club.”
Barrow have finished ninth and eighth in Canavan's two full seasons with the club, helping to re-establish themselves in the EFL after nearly half a century out of it.
And the captain admits that the club has come to play a huge part in his life.
"When I first came in, I needed a change from what I had, I needed a fresh challenge," he added.
"It’s provided everything I was looking for at the time and the longer I’ve been here, the more it’s been built into my life and my family’s life."
