Jersey Bulls defender Harry Curtis will stay in the UK to have surgery on his broken leg.
The defender fractured both bones in his leg during his side's Combined Counties Premier South clash at Abbey Rangers on Tuesday.
The game was postponed after the injury, which occurred two minutes before half-time, due to a delay in the ambulance arriving.
Bulls trailed 1-0 in the game when it was called off - no decision has yet been made on whether the match will be replayed.
"It has now been confirmed that Harry has broken both the tibia and fibula in his leg and is currently awaiting surgery in the UK," a statement from Jersey Bulls read.
"His family have flown over and are now with Harry and will accompany him back when he is released from hospital.
"Thanks to the Abbey Rangers manager, Adam Bessent, captain Luke Robertson and the match officials Jake Symes, Steve Hart and Simon Smith, for their compassion and understanding with regards to the abandonment of the game.
"Our support goes out to Harry, his family, and all of the players, staff and supporters that were affected by last night's incident and we hope to welcome him back to Springfield shortly."
