Teenager Sanca signs first Newport contract

Newport County have given teenage defender Nelson Sanca his first professional contract.
The 17-year-old joined the Exiles' academy in the summer of 2023 after impressing in the Ardal Leagues with Cardiff club Canton.
Sanca made his senior debut against Tranmere Rovers in April.
“I think it’s been a really good season for me and I can’t thank everyone enough for their support," said Sanca.
“Last season I came from grassroots, and I couldn’t have imagined to have been in this position almost a year later."
He added: “The academy has been brilliant to be a part of since I joined. They’ve played a huge part in my development and have always been there for me.
“Next season for me is just about kicking on once again. Work hard with the first team and try and play as many games as possible."
