Notts County assistant head coach Matt Saunders has left the club to pursue other opportunities.

The 35-year-old was part of the coaching team that moved with boss Stuart Maynard to Meadow Lane 12 months ago from Wealdstone.

Saunders now leaves the League Two side a day after Matt Taylor departed as Wealdstone boss to take over at Solihull Moors, appearing to him make a contender to return to his former club.

Notts' first-team coach Craig Saunders has also gone with his brother, with the Magpie saying he is, "leaving to support Matt in his next role".

First-team coach and former analyst Joao Alves has now stepped up to work as Maynard's assistant head coach.
