Torquay United are likely to be without midfielder Munashe Sundire for an extended period because of a serious hamstring injury.
The former Tamworth midfielder, 28, moved to Plainmoor in the summer and has made four appearances for the Gulls.
Sundire was hurt during the 3-2 win over Dover Athletic last month.
"He's had a scan and he's actually ruptured his hamstring off his tendon behind his knee," manager Paul Wotton told BBC Radio Devon.
"It was really innocuous - he just landed from a header.
"The early prognosis is bad, so we're devastated for him - selfishly for myself as well because I think the fans could see how strong a player he is, how combative he is, and we really could have done with him on Saturday at Hemel.
"He's upset and he's down and we have to rally around him. We think it's going to require surgery."
