Rangers have sold Morocco forward Hamza Igamane to French top-flight club Lille for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old was bought by the Ibrox club from AS FAR in his homeland in July last year, scoring 16 goals in his debut campaign.

This term, he has been limited to just three outings as a substitute after a long summer of speculation over his future.

His last involvement was controversial, with manager Russell Martin revealing the player had refused to come off the bench in Sunday's 1-1 draw at St Mirren, claiming an injury.

Igamane has signed a five-year contract with the side that finished fifth in Ligue 1 last season, qualifying for the Europa League league phase.

"I will give everything on the pitch to help the team win and reach the highest level possible," he said.

Lille president Olivier Letang described Igamane as "a complete striker", adding that he has "significant potential to develop".

"It took some patience to reach this positive outcome, but the determination and trust between both parties has finally made it possible," said Letang.
