Alan Sheehan says Swansea City must wait to see how long they will be without Zan Vipotnik after their top scorer missed Saturday's draw at Charlton Athletic through injury.

Vipotnik was at The Valley having travelled with Sheehan's squad on Thursday.

But the Slovenia forward, who has scored eight times in 15 Swansea appearances this season, was left watching from the stands in south London after complaining of a problem in his quad muscle during training on Friday.

"Vipi (Vipotnik) felt something in his quad so we are going to get that looked at," said Swansea head coach Alan Sheehan.

"We didn't want to risk it - we don't know how serious it is. We are going to have to get a scan and see where it is."

Swansea are back in action at Preston North End next Wednesday, and host Ipswich Town next weekend prior to the final international break of 2025.

Sheehan's team slip to 16th in the table despite claiming a point against a Charlton side who have a formidable home record.

Adam Idah's equaliser secured a share of the spoils after Charlie Kelman opened the scoring in the opening seconds of the second half.

Sheehan said Swansea's players were "really disappointed" with the draw, having controlled the contest in spells and limited Charlton's sights of goal.

"In terms of performance, against a team who are difficult to play against, we managed to cope really well for large parts of the game," Sheehan added.

"We pinned them in in the second half and had opportunities. The guys were excellent in terms of effort and application."

Swansea felt a key refereeing decision went against them inside the first minute of the game, when Eom Ji-Sung raced in behind the home defence and went down as Macaulay Gillesphey made a sliding challenge.

But with the visitors appealing for a sending off, referee David Webb did not give a free-kick.

"At the time it looked like a foul to me," Sheehan said.

"Potentially [it is a red card]. We had to work very, very hard to get decisions today."
