AFC Wimbledon captain Jake Reeves has signed a contract extension, tying him to the club until the summer of 2026.

The 31-year-old joined the Dons from Stevenage last summer for a third spell with the club and has made 50 appearances since then, scoring five goals.

He provided assists for both goals as they beat Ipswich Town on penalties following a 2-2 draw in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

"When I joined I always had the aim of securing another deal by playing well and impressing the manager. I’m happy that I’ve done that," he said.

“Playing here at Plough Lane, week in, week out is really special in comparison to other stadiums. The hunger is always there for success, it’s what keeps you going."

Wimbledon have won two of their three League Two games so far this season and are at home to Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
