Guernsey FC recorded their biggest win in more than three-and-a-half years as they thrashed unbeaten Newhaven 7-1 at Victoria Park.
The visitors were third in the Southern Combination Premier Division going into the game but were outclassed by Guernsey as the hosts went 5-0 ahead before half-time.
Two goals in three first-half minutes made the game safe for the hosts - first Callum Le Lacheur tapped in from close range after Ross Allen's 18th-minute shot had been tipped onto the post before Sam Murray had a similar finish as Allen again hit the upright.
Brandon Wallace and Allen added two more goals in quick succession - Wallace finished well on 32 minutes before Allen tapped in three minutes later after Murray's shot was saved.
Seb Vance went on to make it 5-0 on the stroke of half-time as he turned in a blocked shot.
The goals continued to flow as Wallace turned in his second a minute after the restart before Murray scored a superb overhead kick to make it 7-0 after an hour.
Billy Oliver pulled a goal back for Newhaven with 12 minutes to go before Will Fazakerley headed against the visitors' crossbar three minutes later.
The win was the fourth time Guernsey have scored four or more goals in a game this season and came after a disappointing 2-1 loss at struggling Lingfield on Tuesday.
It was the Green Lions' biggest since an 8-2 victory at Staines Town in February 2022, but falls well short of their record victory when they beat Crawley Down Gatwick 11-0 in January 2014 when Allen scored a club-record six goals.
"It was a brilliant result and a great performance, in some ways more than the result because we really dictated the tempo," Guernsey manager Tony Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.
"It was complete contrast to Tuesday night, which is what we were looking for.
"I had a few words to say to them before the game about Tuesday and about some things which were frustrating me and they shoved it straight back at me, and that's what you want as a coach.
"The pleasing thing is our transitional play was really good.
"When we did have the ball we were really good at the stuff we've been working on, so from a coaching team that's pleasing to see and the players deserve all the credit because it was outstanding."
