Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Liverpool youngster Isaac Mabaya on a season-long loan.

Mabaya, 20, was part of the Reds' Under-21 side, but he made his first-team debut as a substitute in their FA Cup defeat by Plymouth Argyle in February.

But now the defender prepares for his first loan move in senior football.

He is the seventh player to move to Wigan over the summer and is the second in less than 24 hours after Brentford midfielder Ryan Trevitt also joined on loan.

The Latics kick off their League One campaign at home to Northampton Town on Saturday (15:00 BST).
