Midfielder Forshaw signs new Blackburn deal

Midfielder Adam Forshaw has signed a new one-year contract at Blackburn Rovers.
The 33-year-old played an important role at Ewood Park in the second half of last season, having joined from Plymouth Argyle after terminating his contract with the Pilgrims by mutual consent in January.
Forshaw, who previously played for Everton, Brentford, Wigan Athletic, Middlesbrough, Leeds United and Norwich City, made 30 appearances for Plymouth after joining them on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
After linking up with Rovers, he played nine games in the Championship and becomes the club's second signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Dutch winger Dion De Neve.
A statement, external on the club website said that Forshaw had become "an influential figure in the dressing room, setting standards in training and mentoring the younger members of the squad."
