Shrewsbury sign striker Kayode and keeper Young

Shrewsbury Town have made two signings in the space of 24 hours by bringing in striker Joshua Kayode on loan from Rotherham United and goalkeeper Joe Young on a one-year deal, following his exit from Wolves.
Young, 21, who played for Wolves' Under-21 side in the EFL Trophy but never made a first-team breakthrough, joins his home-town club after a successful trial as the second keeper to join Town this summer after Toby Savin, from Accrington.
"Joe is a young goalkeeper who was well thought of at Wolves," said Town boss Paul Hurst. "He has experience with England at youth level and is a player with potential who we hope can develop under our watch."
"JJ is a player I have been aware of for a long time. He's had a few loan moves with varying success but hasn’t got the amount of games he would have liked. He is a player that can play in different positions across the front line. He’s quick, strong, athletic and has an eye for goal."
Kayode has a career haul of 21 goals - three for Rotherham and the rest on loan, three of them with Carlisle United, as well as Chesterfield, Gateshead and MK Dons. But he has not found the net in his limited opportunities over the last two seasons.
The Nigeria-born Republic of Ireland Under-21 international follows the arrival of fellow strikers John Marquis and George Lloyd as Shrewsbury bid to solve last season's woes in front of goal, when they were the EFL's lowest scores with 35.
The club have also recruited midfielders Harrison Biggins and Tommi O'Reilly, and defender Luca Hoole, along with the return of Toto Nsiala, to take their tally to nine summer signings.
