Swansea favourites to sign Wycombe striker Kone

Swansea City have emerged as favourites to sign Wycombe Wanderers striker Richard Kone, despite a rival bid from Preston North End.
Kone, 22, scored 18 goals in League One last season as Wycombe missed out on promotion to the Championship, losing to Charlton Athletic in the play-off semi-finals.
Preston have made a bid of £3m but, with Wycombe holding out for £5m, sources close to negotiations say Swansea have offered £4.5m.
Kone has been at Adams Park since moving from Essex Senior League outfit Athletic Newham in January 2024 following a successful trial.
He has a year left on his contract and has attracted interest from several clubs, with French side Toulouse also reportedly interested in signing him this summer.
But Swansea now appear to be in the strongest position to secure Kone's services.
Club sources have indicated that signing a striker is a priority for the Swans before the transfer window shuts.
Alan Sheehan's side finished 11th in the Championship last season, while Preston were 20th.
