Crewe Alexandra have handed a three-year ban to a fan who allegedly threw a pyrotechnic onto the pitch at Walsall.
The 31-year-old man was arrested following the incident on Saturday and is due to appear in court later this month.
"Incidents of this nature cause damage to the club’s reputation and can lead to substantial financial penalties and cannot be tolerated," a Crewe statement said.
"Crewe Alexandra would like to reaffirm a resolute commitment to taking decisive action against fans who attempt to bring banned items into a stadium, or those who discharge pyrotechnics."
