Your views on what your Premiership club need in January

- Published
The January window is never described as anything other than 'notoriously difficult' to operate in, but that will not stop clubs doing their best to improve their squads.
And it certainly will not stop fans discussing what their team needs for the second half of the campaign.
That's why we asked supporters of Scottish Premiership clubs to tell us what their team needs this month.
From box-to-box midfielders to leaders and goal-scoring centre-forwards, here are your responses.

Aberdeen
Russell: I don't think we should be too knee jerk. Definitely a centre half and cover at right back. I'd like to Alfie Bavidge and Ryan Duncan recalled from loan and given a chance. Get Fletcher Boyd back in the squad too.
Anon: We need a new centre-back, a back-up right-back and a new striker as our strikers aren't good enough.
Eric: Those deciding not to accept a new contract should be dropped and shipped out asap. Any loanee not performing can be sent back. On that basis, we will require as a minimum, two defenders, a ball-winning central midfielder and a poacher up front.
Donald: I still trust in Jimmy Thelin, but in my view, in January, he really needs to get a solid back four, plus back-ups for central defence. We also need a creative central midfielder or two. Then finally, splash out on getting Bojan Miovski back from Spain please. Bojan, your team needs you!
Stewart: I would like to see Lawrence Shankland from hearts and Scott Tiffoney from Dundee.
Euan: We need a centre-back with pace for sure. We also need to look at bringing in younger midfielders as Graeme Shinnie and Sivert Nilsen are both struggling. A centre forward would be useful but I still feel that Ester Sokler has potential and needs consistent time on the pitch.
Barry: If Jimmy is going to stick with this system and avoid a complete disaster, the priorities are an experienced centre-back, a holding midfielder under the age of 30, a proven goalscorer up top and an attacking midfielder with drive and some physicality. Good luck!
Celtic
John: Need a left-back in permanently. Alex Valle is good but only a loan. I would like Kieran Tierney back if he can stay fit, and another winger through the door. I would also give Johnny Kenny a chance. He's done well for Shamrock Rovers; let's see what he can do for Celtic.
Anon: Tierney and two wingers. That's all we really need in January and the wingers will mainly be depth options, as I'm not sure we'd improve on Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn given our spending model. Greg Taylor and Luis Palma should be sold, while Odin Thiago Holm and Hyunjun Yang should be loaned out. Youngsters (and old man Kasper Schmeichel) need to be offered new deals too.
Martin: Go for it. Get Tierney, Lennon Miller, Jota, and James McAtee. Even see if we could get Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United.
James: Not much improvement needed but depth can only help. Miller, Tierney and a striker, as Adam Idah isn't a strong enough back-up for Kyogo. So long as Rodger's doesn't go out and buy another 14 wingers like he had done previously.
Andy: Bring back big Bobo Balde just to shore up the defence, Cristiano Ronaldo for cover in case Khun gets injured and re-sign Tony Watt in case we get Barcelona in the Champions League. Boom, sorted!
Dundee
Kevin: Hopefully a new striker and two centre-backs.
Darren: Defenders, defenders, defenders and defenders.
Ross: We need another left-back for now and to cover when Ziyad Larkeche comes back. We could do with a right-back and maybe another centre-back. I'd love to see an attacking midfielder or a right-sided winger as we need someone to reliably supply Simon Murray and Seb Palmer-Houlden.
Danny: I expect any new signings this window to be loans. What we need is a solid, dependable centre-back, a creative midfield player and another striker. Apart from those we need the rest of the squad to dig in, because we are definitely in a relegation battle.
Dundee United
Ross: I would love it if the loan deals for Jack Walton, Luca Stephenson and Sam Dalby could all be made permanent. Apart from that, I would like to see us sign a forward with electrifying pace. That would add another dimension to our attack, which I believe we are sorely missing.
Kieran: It's moreso quality over quantity for United in the January market - a rarity in recent years. A priority must be cover at left-back for Will Ferry, which was evident when he was suspended during the recent defeat at Motherwell. Another pacey winger to help complement top scorer Dalby and the passports will be out come May.
Scott: A back-up for Ferry at left-back/left wing-back is the only signing that would be absolutely necessary. The squad we have is of a very good quality already with plenty of depth in almost every position.
Denis: Another striker with pace would be helpful along with a player who can play right or left full-back to provide cover. I trust the recruitment team to look forward to next season looking at out-of-contract players. Icing on the cake would be permanent deals for Dalby and Walton.
Hearts
Sam: It's hard to see where to begin with Hearts. No player this season has really stood out as a steady, reliable player. Key positions to fill would be two strikers, attacking midfielders, and left and right-backs.
Jim: We need at least one dependable centre-back. At least two aggressive, attacking, creative midfielders and at least one attacking wide player and at least one striker assuming Lawrence Shankland remains and finds his form. We also need a new style of play, present style does not suit our current squad, so change it!
Anon: An intelligent midfielder. There is no point having strikers or other attackers up front if there is no one who can find the right way to get the ball to them. Having said that, there is definitely a need for some real strikers. James Wilson is doing the best he can, but he cannot do it all alone. There need to be multiple threats for one to get free.
Maca: It's clear Hearts need new players in several positions, a striker with pace who can score, two wide players with pace that can cross the ball and be able to track back. A midfielder to drive the side forward and dictate the games, a leader. Two centre-backs with pace that can defend crosses. Finally to build a side, surely Zander Clark should be number one.
Hibernian
Peter: Hibs are still in dire need of a seasoned centre-back and I would say an out- and-out goalscorer.
David: Another keeper, central defender, a holding midfielder with leadership and an attacking midfielder.
Alan: A goalkeeper, a box-to-box midfielder and a centre-half.
Scott: Very simple, a goalkeeper. Don't tinker with the momentum and confidence elsewhere. We have a clearout coming in the summer, so start thinking about that now.
Kenny: We need to strengthen the spine of the team. Another goalkeeper - Zander Clark would be good - a centre-half, someone for the middle of midfield to take charge and drive the team on, and a centre forward. We can then build on that. The manager will know by now which players he no longer wants at the club.
David: A new goalkeeper is a must and I expect an attacking midfielder as we do lack a 10. An Emiliano Marcondes type that we brought in last January. If we receive a decent offer for Elie Youan, he will be off. Moving these guys on may free up space for another forward who can hopefully do a 'Myziane Maolida' from last January.
Martin: A decent goalkeeper, a playmaker and one centre-back would do me.
Kilmarnock
Stuarty: Without a doubt we need an experienced centre-half to cover for Stuart Findlay and allow Lewis Mayo to go back to right-back. Neither defensive loanees, Jack Burroughs and Oliver Bainbridge, have impressed. Happy to let them and Rory McKenzie go if he can find regular football somewhere else and continue his career at the right level.
David: We've been crying out for a midfield playmaker for several seasons, so that should be our number one aim. Defensively we need cover and arguably a right-winger as well to replace Danny Armstrong.
Neil: We still, even now, need a goalscorer, though Bruce Anderson has started to come good lately. Someone to shore up the defence would be welcome too and if there's a deal on offer for Armstrong, we should take it, no questions asked!
Callum: In high need of an out-and-out winger to replace Armstrong and a proven goalscoring striker.
DM: We need two centre-backs, a CDM, a winger, and a striker. Would let go of McKenzie. Innes Cameron has been effective as a substitute, but would understand if he wants to leave for more game time. Bainbridge has proven to be not up to scratch either. Would take £100k for Armstrong and let him go to Hearts now. His head is gone, he has no effort and desire to do well for us now.
Motherwell
James: An out-and-out goalscorer, but they are very hard to come by. I would take Louis Moult back in a heartbeat. If we get most of the long term injured back soon, then we really don't need many additions. Some squad players are surplus to requirement, but I won't name them out of respect, as they tend to give a lot of effort, but don't offer enough.
Robert: We need two players who can go at defenders at both left and right side of the pitch and can switch wings.
Pauline: Don't think it's working with Moses Ebiye. Ross Callachan hasn't worked out either. Need to strengthen the midfield. Jair Tavares needs to return to parent club.
Mark: I believe we need to ship Zach Robinson out and either bring back Filip Stuparevic from loan or bring in another striker. When I saw Zach Robinson on the ball in the final third he seemed afraid to shoot and more often than not tried to make the extra pass when not needed or available. Wish him a speedy recovery but I think we need another fearless attacker.
Rangers
Coll: Tie up Zak Lovelace on a longer contract and Leon Balogun on another deal. Grant Hanley should be brought in from Norwich on a two-year deal, he adds a bit of pace and steel to the backline. A top professional with experience and leadership.
Doug: Rangers need better defensive options, particularly at centre-back where a pacy, aggressive centre-half is needed. Particularly with John Souttar's injury issues, and Robin Propper's unsuitability to Scottish football .
Tom: Sell Cyriel Dessers, Robin Propper, James Tavernier, Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo. Buy Lawrence Shankland and a good centre-back
Matt: Three defenders, two wingers, two strikers. Dessers, Kieran Dowell, Ross McCausland and Robin Propper gone.
Dave: Sell the whole squad apart from Hamza Igamane and John Souttar and start again. We have no attacking threat.
Chris: My dream transfer window is first to get rid of the poor performers Dessers, Dowell and others. Then let's get two injury free centre-backs and a proven goal scorer
Alexander: What Rangers need is a complete top to bottom clear out - people that are going to pull their weight and do the job they are employed to do. We want honest to goodness professional players that earn their wage and don't expect paid for doing nothing more than turn up. We need a forward that knows how to do a forward's job, stays on his feet and is not offside.
Ross County
Wendy: They most definitely need to keep Jordan White and Alex Samuel.
John: White and Eamonn Brophy should be moved on. Bring in a forward. Perhaps Liam Boyce can help Ronan Hale progress his game.
Keith: Anyone who can run with the ball and shoot, players with pace.
Jim: Consistently we lack pace on turnovers, both attacking and defending. An exciting winger or wide midfielder with pace and some goals and a covering central defender with pace to match some of the strong, pacey forwards in the league. We could then more readily play four at the back with an extra midfielder where we often get overrun.
Calum: Wingers, wingers, wingers, wingers and wingers.
St Johnstone
Daniel: It would be quicker to list what St Johnstone don't need in January than what they do need. A keeper who doesn't hand goals to opponents is the priority, but virtually every position needs improved in some way.
Paul: Some experienced campaigners at the back and in central midfield, as well as an experienced keeper of course.
Ian: We need an experienced goalie, along with at least one decent centre-back, a right-back and a couple of wide midfielders. They all need to be comfortable playing the type of football Simo Valakari demands. I just doubt we'll have the budget to attract them, especially with the prospect of relegation looming large.
Les: We desperately need an experienced goalkeeper. A winger and a right-back and another striker would be a bonus.
Adam: First name should be a keeper. Josh Rae has been terrible all season and is Championship level at best. Full-back and some natural width needed as well, someone with a creative spark, a younger Graham Carey. Huge fear if we go down it'll be a struggle to get back up.
Jimmy: At this time, we need to see which players are available and will suit our style of play. Our budget isn't the best so we are limited with that. Loan players may be the way. I don't know exactly which players are out there, but we certainly need a good partner for Makenzie Kirk, a good midfielder and one in defence, we need players who can lead.
St Mirren
Christopher: Dream signing would be another Toyosi Olusanya so we can have both of them running at defences... we might just win the league!
Eddie: A centre forward to replace Toyosi, a winger who can cross a ball, a midfielder who has a will to win the ball, and a Greg Kiltie type player to give the wee guy a helping hand.
Huey: Saints badly need a goalscorer. I have no idea who we bring in, but it's a position where we are clearly lacking. Our squad was decimated by outside issues with three key players, but the introduction of youth players - Evan Mooney in particular - has paid dividends in recent weeks. Hopefully Stephen Robinson has something up his sleeve in the January transfer window.
Jim: Olusanya needs replacing with two forwards who can play together consistently. We need a playmaker in midfield who can control the play and we need to offload the squad players who just haven't shown up when given their chance.
