Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic has refused to confirm whether he will stay on at the club next season.

The 42-year-old Bosnian-born Austrian took over in January following Wayne Rooney's departure but was unable to stave off relegation from the Championship.

Argyle ended the season second-from-bottom, three points from safety, after a late 2-1 loss to champions Leeds United at Home Park.

The Pilgrims had a resurgence under Muslic as he guided Argyle to a famous FA Cup upset over Liverpool and five wins in their final 10 league matches.

But Plymouth, who won just once in the final 14 games of Rooney's tenure at the end of 2024, had left themselves just too much to do to secure their second-tier status.

On Thursday, Muslic, who agreed a three-and-a-half year deal when he joined the club, said he wanted "answers" over the futures of a number of key players.

He also called for clarity over who Argyle's new technical director will be as well as appointments to the recruitment department.

"I'm empty - we are relegated for seven or eight days, believe me I'm empty," Muslic told BBC Sport.

"I don't have the power right now to think about a potential future because that takes a lot of focus, a lot of concentration and a lot of energy.

"I don't have this energy right now, I need to go back to my family to see them, to recharge, to breathe and we have enough time to think about the future."
