Luton must end 'domino effect' of away defeats - Morris

Carlton Morris has scored seven goals in 23 league appearances this season

Luton Town captain Carlton Morris has promised the team will re-double efforts to break the "domino effect" of damaging defeats away from home following their 10th in a row in the Championship.
The Hatters - who were relegated from the Premier League last season - are 20th in the table following Monday's 2-1 loss at QPR, just two points clear of the bottom three.
And the result piled even more pressure on boss Rob Edwards, who led the team to promotion two seasons ago.
"It's unfair really because ultimately, once we cross that white line, it's in our hands and we've got to do more," Morris told BBC Three Counties Radio.
"I'm all about accountability, I don't want to make excuses or put it on anyone else, we've got to put it on myself and the (rest of) players, we need to find a way to get results away from home.
"There's a knack to winning games at this level. I think it'll be like a London bus, once we find one it'll build that confidence again."
Luton won 11 away games, compared to 10 victories at home, during their promotion campaign in 2022-23.
But they were only successful on the road twice in the Premier League last term, and have so far managed four points out of a possible 36 away from Kenilworth Road in the current campaign.
Their sole away victory this season was a 1-0 success at Millwall in September, when Teden Mengi scored the only goal.
"There's no excuses, we need to find a way to be better in both boxes because these games, the last three especially, have been tight and we've found ourselves on the wrong side of the result in each and every one of them," said Morris.
"I can't say a bad word about the lads in the effort category, the running stats back that up. But we need to find a way to get results away from home at the minute and whatever the answer may be, we are going to find it because we work too hard not to and that's not going to stop - we'll never give up."
Luton again received enthusiastic backing from the majority of their supporters who made the journey to Shepherd's Bush.
Morris added: "This club, this community, is tight-knit, always has been. When it's going well we're together, when it's not going so well, we're together - and when we come out of it, which we will inevitably, because it's a great set of lads that are willing to work hard, that won't be forgotten.
"We'll be taking the positives because there was some nice football but when you're on top in games at this level, you have to score. If you're not doing that, you will get punished.
"It's been like a domino effect (away from home), it has snowballed, but we're going to be working so diligently and sort this out."
How do the fans see it?
Rob Edwards was appointed by Luton in November 2022 and has been in charge of the team for 103 games in all competitions, winning 32.
Following the game at QPR, supporter Gavin said it was now "crunch time" for the club regarding the manager's future.
"It's last-chance saloon now, really. If our home form starts to go, that's it, isn't it? A couple of people were saying 'Edwards out' but the majority are still being like they want us to turn it around, they know we're better than we're playing," he added.
Another fan, George, said it was "getting harder and harder every week" to keep faith in Edwards.
"I love the man, I do. I love him to pieces. It's getting harder but I still back him. He's the one that's here so you've got to get behind him."
Luton are in FA Cup action on Saturday, away to Premier League high-fliers Nottingham Forest, before returning to Championship action with a home game against Preston North End on 18 January.
Their next league test on the road is at Oxford United three days later.
