Does hitting the post count as a shot on target?
- Published
A shot on target is one that enters the goal, or is a deliberate attempt to score that would have gone into the net but was blocked by a goalkeeper or a last line defending player.
A shot that hits the post and goes wide of the goal does not count - instead, this is recorded as a 'shot off target'.
But if a ball hits the post and rebounds into the net, this is then recorded as being on target.
