Watford match-winner Rocco Vata has revealed how a squad heart-to-heart set the scene for the win over West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night.
The Hornets came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory in head coach Javi Gracia's first home game in charge since returning to the club.
Vata told BBC Three Counties Radio it was a reflection of an improved team-first emphasis following the disappointing defeat at Sheffield United on Saturday.
"We had a talk during the week about being more of a team," said the 20-year-old.
"We had a serious chat, all sat down. We felt like everyone individually is great but we can do better as a team and we showed that. We ran for each other, worked hard and the goals came."
Vata feels Gracia's tactical stamp on the team is also being felt after the exit of Paulo Pezzolano.
"I can only speak for myself but this formation - 4-4-2 - really suits me. He wants me to go inside, sometimes drift inside and work back for the team which I also enjoy," he said.
Mid-table Watford face a testing trip to Championship leaders Coventry City on Saturday.
"It'll be difficult but we took a lot of confidence from beating a very strong West Brom so we'll take that into the match," said Vata.
