Sunderland have signed winger Chemsdine Talbi from Club Brugge in a deal which could eventually be worth a £20.5m.
The 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Black Cats which will keep him at the Stadium of Light until at least 2029.
BBC Sport understands Sunderland have paid an initial £18m (21m euros) with a potential £2.5m (3m euros) in add ons.
Talbi was born in Belgium and represented them at youth level but has since pledged his international future to Morocco.
Talbi said the lure of playing in the "biggest and best league in the world" persuaded him to move to Sunderland.
"I'm really looking forward to playing in the Premier League," he said.
"It was a good project, a good team, a really exciting team with a lot of young players – so it motivated me to come here."
Talbi caught the eye in the 2024-25 season at Club Brugge when he scored seven goals and provided five assists across 44 appearances.
He also scored two goals in 11 appearances in the Champions League for the Belgian top-flight side.
