New contract for Accrington defender Smith

Josh Smith has played six games for Accrington since his debut last October

Accrington Stanley have agreed a new two-year contract with defender Josh Smith.

The 20-year-old made his debut in October 2024 in an EFL Trophy match and he has played five matches this season.

That includes starting each of Stanley's last three league matches.

Smith told the club's website: "After signing a professional contract last season - I wanted to get into the team, which I have managed to do, now I have got to stay there and it's a lot of hard work."
