Champions Celtic host Dundee United in SWPL opener

Celtic will begin their defence of the Scottish Women's Premier League title at home to Dundee United on Sunday, 11 August.

The Glasgow side were crowned champions for the first time last season, while United retained their place in the top-fight with a play-off victory over Kilmarnock.

Rangers, who missed out on the title on the final day of last season but secured a cup double, are away to an Aberdeen side who appointed Colin Bell as their new manager on Wednesday.

Having missed out on a trophy for the first time in 22 years, 16-time champions Glasgow City will look to improve on last season's third-place finish as they start their campaign away to Montrose.

Partick Thistle host Hibernian and Spartans entertain Motherwell, while SWPL2 champions Queen’s Park start their first season in the top division at home to Heart of Midlothian, who finished fourth last term.

Meanwhile, Queen's Park have announced that their home games will be played 25 miles away at Stenhousemuir's Ochilview Park, with the Glasgow club saying the move from Hampden was required to meet SWPL criteria.

The first meeting between last season’s top three teams will be on Sunday, 18 August as City host Celtic, with Rangers making the same trip on Sunday, 13 October.

Because of their involvement in the Women’s Champions League, the first Old Firm derby will be on Wednesday, 2 October, as Rangers host Celtic.

Hibernian entertain Heart of Midlothian in the first Edinburgh derby on Sunday, 8 September

The SWPL will have 12 clubs playing 32 league games each, and an eight-team SWPL2 playing 28 games, for a third season in a row before it changes to two 10-team leagues for the 2025-26 campaign.

It means that, for one season, three clubs will be relegated and one promoted.
