Plymouth Argyle have signed Burnley striker Michael Obafemi on loan for the rest of the season.

Obafemi, 24, started his career in the Premier League at Southampton but has found regular football hard to come by in recent years.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Millwall but could now make his Argyle debut against QPR on Saturday lunchtime.

Manager Wayne Rooney told the club website, external: "He fits the profile of player I want as part of the squad and complements the style of play we are looking to implement."

Obafemi has 12 caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring twice in the Uefa Nations League in 2022.
