Wycombe sign Walsall's Allen for undisclosed fee

Wycombe Wanderers have signed centre-back Taylor Allen from League Two club Walsall for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has moved to Adams Park after scoring 11 goals in 57 appearances last season as The Saddlers reached the play-off final before losing to AFC Wimbledon.

"Taylor was someone we identified a long time ago as someone who we'd love to bring in strengthen our defensive options," said Chairboys boss Mike Dodds., external

"He's a really well-rounded defender who contributes at both ends of the pitch, and after the fantastic year he's had at Walsall we're excited to help him develop further in League One and become a really important player for us."

Allen leaves his hometown club to become Wycombe's fifth signing of the summer following James Tilley, Dan Casey, Caolan Boyd-Munce and Armando Junior Quitirna.

No details of his contract have been disclosed.

They will be away to promoted Bradford City in their first game of the new season on 2 August.
