Torquay sign defender Akyeampong on short-term deal

Torquay United have signed right-back Denzel Akyeampong on a short-term contract.
The 21-year-old Londoner has been on trial at Plainmoor following a spell in the USA with Charlotte Independence in 2023-24.
The deal was completed in time for him to go into the squad for Saturday's National League South game against Horsham.
"We're really pleased to have him. During pre-season he demonstrated a strong will to win and he's hungry to make an impression and try and get himself a career," said manager Paul Wotton.
