'No case to answer' in Baggies racism investigation

A member of staff was suspended throughout a two-month investigation process

West Bromwich Albion have found there is "no case to answer" following a two-month investigation into allegations of racism from a member of staff.

In May, the Championship side suspended an employee after allegations were made in a 10-point grievance letter seen by BBC Sport.

The letter included accusations of "racist and biased practises" in repeated incidents against black players at the club.

Albion said the independent investigation led by a "leading UK law firm" had concluded, with no further action to be taken.

"It found that there was no case to answer in any of the allegations made, there were no incidents of racism or discriminatory behaviour and no breaches of the club’s equality policy or any other policies," a club statement said.

"The employee, who was suspended throughout the investigation, will now return to work with the full support of the club."

The Baggies will open their 2024-25 Championship campaign away to Queens Park Rangers this Saturday.
