Walsall kitman Dave Joyce and pitchside announcer Simon Hill have both been handed three-game bans by the Football Association following an incident in the Saddlers' home match against Crewe Alexandra on 9 November.

A multi-person scuffle broke out when the ball went out of play near the dugouts in the eighth minute of stoppage time in the League Two game at Poundland Bescot Stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Joyce was sent off by referee Stephen Parkinson, who also booked Crewe manager Lee Bell and Saddlers defender Liam Gordon.

Both he and Hill have now admitted to acting in an "improper manner". Joyce was fined £350, and Hill £100.

The written reasons from the FA's Independent Regulatory Commission, will be published in due course - and will be expected to go into greater detail on the exact nature of the offences.

Walsall, who have slipped to fourth in League Two after successive draws, had their home game against Gillingham postponed last Saturday and are now due to return to action on Saturday at AFC Wimbledon (15:00 GMT).
