Brendan Rodgers hopes to complete a deal for Adam Idah 'by the end of the window'

Manager Brendan Rodgers believes Celtic can seal a deal to bring Adam Idah back to the Scottish champions after making a fresh bid for the Norwich City striker.

The Championship club have yet to accept the revised offer for the 23-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan in Glasgow, but discussions between the clubs continue.

Rodgers confirmed he is hopeful the deal can be wrapped up this month.

"I'm hoping, by the end of the window, that can be done, with some others," he said.

The Canaries previously rejected the Scottish champions' bid of around £4m.

Republic of Ireland international Idah scored nine goals in 19 Celtic appearances and has netted 17 times in 115 for Norwich.

Last month, Idah was left out of Norwich's friendly with Hoffenheim for disciplinary reasons, with head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup saying the striker had reported late for a team flight.

Matt O'Riley could be on his way to the Premier League

Reports have claimed that Matt O’Riley is on his way out of Celtic, with Brighton and Hove Albion linked with the Denmark midfielder.

Rodgers praised the 23-year-old for focusing on his work at Celtic.

"The behaviour and the respect shown to everything and what it is we're trying to do has been brilliant, even though there have been bids put in," Rodgers said. "And, for the likes of Matt, he's been absolutely fantastic.

"Some people might say, 'well, do you have to be not nice to get a move?' Well, that's not really the case. He's a good guy and his training's exemplary.

“And if a club meets the valuation that the club thinks he will go or he can go, then that will happen.

"I know the club's model and how it works, but there's absolutely no rush to move Matt. We would love him to stay here and I can see it in himself, he's really happy."
