Rangers have completed the signing of left-winger Djeidi Gassama from Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee.
The Mauritania-born 21-year-old, who has signed a four-year contract, has played twice for France Under-20s.
Gassama made 47 appearances last season, all but seven being starts, and scored eight goals.
He helped the Owls finish 12th in the Championship, but Wednesday have financial troubles and owner Dejphon Chansiri is seeking to sell the ailing club.
"He is certainly an exciting player who will get supporters on the edge of their seats, and I believe he will add an extra dimension to our attack with his qualities," Rangers head coach Russell Martin said.
"He is hungry to improve as a player and, most importantly, is desperate to pull on the Rangers jersey and help deliver success to the club."
Having come through the youth ranks with Paris St-Germain, Gassama had a loan spell with Belgian club Eupen before joining the Owls in August 2023.
Overall, he played 84 times for the Championship club, scoring 12 goals and contributing four assists.
What do numbers tell us about Gassama?
When compared to fellow attacking midfielders/wingers in the Championship last season on a per-90-minutes basis, eight goals is a good return for someone who was playing in a mid-table side.
Gassama's data also shows up well in successful dribbles, touches in the opposition box, and winning fouls, duels and possession, particularly in the final third.
Martin will want more from the winger in terms of chance creation, though, with just one assist provided across all competitions.
At the age of 21, the potential is there for Gassama to be a success, with Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell saying: "His attributes are well-suited to the challenges we'll face both domestically and on the European stage.
"He arrives with considerable experience under his belt at only 21. He is on an upward trajectory in his young career and we look forward to seeing him in action."
At least one more winger on the way?
Gassama is the seventh summer arrival at Rangers and he is unlikely to be the only winger brought in.
The departed Vaclav Cerny made a positive impact on loan from Wolfsburg last season, but there were problems on the other flank.
Ianis Hagi has also gone, while Nedim Bajrami blew hot and cold in his debut campaign.
Oscar Cortes, Ross McCausland and Rabbi Matondo remain but have been peripheral figures.
