Torquay United midfielder Dan Hayfield has signed a new two-year contract.
The 28-year-old moved to Plainmoor last summer after leaving Bath City and still had a year to run on his current deal.
He has become a first choice for the Gulls, making 49 appearances and scoring four goals.
"It's good news and good business by the club," manager Paul Wotton told the club website.
"I think it is important that we are tying down players on contracts that are a little bit longer. I thought he had some really good moments last year.
"He's a great character, a great trainer – a good person. All of the DNA we are looking for in a Torquay United football player."
