Spireites agree deal for defender Owolabi-Belewu

Malik Owolabi-Belewu has made eight appearances in the Canadian Premier League this season

Chesterfield have agreed a deal to sign Forge FC defender Malik Owolabi-Belewu when his contract expires with the Canadian Premier League side on 1 January.

The 23-year-old Englishman joined the Hamilton-based side in 2022 after a spell with Italian team SPAL.

"I'm excited to get started, I've seen how passionate the fans are and how talented the squad is," he told Chesterfield's website.

"I want to add my qualities to the mix and use them to help this club achieve its ambitions."
