Burton Albion have signed former Iceland international striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on a short-term deal after he was released by League One rivals Wrexham.

The 32-year-old former Bolton Wanderers, Millwall and Reading forward, who first moved to English football with Wolves in 2016 from German club Kaiserslautern, made just seven appearances in three months with Wrexham.

Bodvarsson failed to score for the Welsh club in his short time with them, but managed 25 goals across two-and-a-half seasons with League One side Bolton before this term.

"We can't wait for him to get going because he's going to be such a valuable player for us," Burton head coach Gary Bowyer told the club website., external
