Grimsby Town have extended the contract of captain Danny Rose, keeping him at the club until the end of next season.

Rose, who joined Grimsby from Stevenage in the summer of 2023, has had an extra year added to his deal.

The 30-year-old striker has scored 17 goals in his 55 appearances for the Mariners.

"He’s the club captain, a leader and he was our top goalscorer last season," said head coach David Artell, external.

"He’s an experienced pro and he’s really important to this football club, on and off the pitch."

Grimsby, who are seventh in League Two, host Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday (15:00 BST).
