    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on when defenders Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong will return from injury: "Connor got into a training session yesterday for the first time. He is not 100% yet, so we need to manage it a bit so don't get your hopes up too soon.

"We expect the same with Jeremie next week. So the two of the come back while we play a lot of games.

"I hope [Bradley] will be available for Leeds."

  2. Pressure eased on Slotpublished at 09:20 GMT

It's fair to say that the pressure has somewhat eased on Arne Slot after Liverpool ended their losing streak with victory at West Ham on Sunday.

That was their second win in their last eight Premier League games, and Slot knows the key now is to carry on winning with two matches against newly promoted sides coming up this week.

Liverpool welcome Sunderland tomorrow before travelling across the M62 to face Leeds on the weekend, and the fans will be expecting no fewer than six points.

  3. 'Abuse is definitely not a good thing'published at 09:16 GMT

Liverpool v Sunderland (Weds, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on social media abuse: "It is normal we are criticised, even if we are winning I think this happens.

"I am not a social media person and I am not aware of it but I'm not stupid and I know it's there.

"Abuse is definitely not a good thing. What I know and what I feel is the support the fans give me in the stadium. They sing for the team but also for me. That's the support I feel."

Liverpool v Sunderland (Weds, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on the fitness of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Joe Gomez: "I think they are not able to play three 90 minutes in a week, that's for sure.

"I will have to see how they feel today and if they are ready to start again.

"All three are able to play in all three games if they don't get an injury."

  5. 'Sunderland have shown great mentality'published at 09:10 GMT

Liverpool v Sunderland (Weds, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Sunderland: "They brought in a lot of new players and started off so well.

"I saw the Chelsea against Arsenal game, very high quality game, and I was aware of the fact that Sunderland beat Chelsea in their stadium and drew with Arsenal. It tells you how strong they must be.

"They have shown a great mentality. The style they play, the risks they take, all 11 players work so, so hard to get a result."

  6. Salah is 'so disciplined'published at 09:08 GMT

Liverpool v Sunderland (Weds, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Mohamed Salah: "It's a normal reaction from a player that is good enough to play for us [to be disappointed to miss out].

"He has been so outstanding for this club for so many years and will be for the future. He wasn't the only one not happy that he wasn't starting.

"The way he behaved is what you would expect form the professional he is. For Mo, he is so disciplined and knows what to do to stay fit."

On when Salah will leave for AFCON: "It's 15 December. But always in these situations there is the player and the national team involved and there are always talks about what is best for all three of us."

On coping without Salah: "We have to find a way to play without him."

Fifa say December 15 is the latest day on which players have to be released for Africa Cup of Nations duty. Salah has been called up by Egypt for the tournament, over Christmas and January.

  7. Slot on Wirtz and Isak fitnesspublished at 09:05 GMT

Liverpool v Sunderland (Weds, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on squad rotation: "Florian [Wirtz] had missed one or two weeks of training, so for him to already play so many minutes is a good thing.

"It was encouraging to see Florian playing that well, it was not the first time he has played well for us. And also Alex [Alexander Isak] as well.

"He [Isak] told me yesterday he felt a bit of cramp coming up already, so we will see how he trains today."

  10. 'Doubting Thomas'published at 08:55 GMT

The back pages this morning focus plenty on Thomas Frank, with papers across the political and readership spectrum carrying quotes from the Spurs boss.

The Sun say Frank's confidence comes despite reports of players unhappy with their style of play, while the Express focus more on his appeals to fans for support.

The Guardian meanwhile lead on the ex-Brentford manager saying he feels confident of the owners' support, despite a run of six home league wins without victory.

  11. Tottenham boss Frank confident of owners' backingpublished at 08:48 GMT

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank says he is "very confident" he has the backing of the club's owners.

Spurs' only Premier League home win under Frank, who joined from Brentford in June, was the opening-weekend fixture against Burnley.

They have just 18 points from 13 games and sit 12th in the league table - with some fans criticising the Dane.

But asked if he was confident the club's hierarchy would give him time to improve things on the pitch, Frank told reporters: "Yeah, I'm very confident.

"It seems like they're good guys, intelligent people, know how to run businesses and learning about football.

"I think when we're dealing with intelligent people, they can see every successful dynasty and every successful club has taken time."

Some say the title is Arsenal's but it is only early December so two losses could mean they give up their place. For me, even Liverpool is still in the title race.

  14. What's on the agenda for today?published at 08:33 GMT

This morning our focus will be on the Premier League big boys (cynical readers chime in, when is it not?).

But we will be hearing from under pressure Liverpool boss Arne Slot early doors, as he attempts to build on their weekend win and lift the Reds back into title contention when they host Sunderland tomorrow.

Then we turn to Mikel Arteta, speaking ahead of Arsenal hosting Brentford tomorrow. If results go their way, the Gunners could end these midweek matches eight points clear in the table.

And we will get the latest from Enzo Maresca, as Chelsea continue their chase of the leaders with a visit to under-fire Daniel Farke's Leeds on Wednesday night.

Liverpool are now only four points away from the top four and that has to be to the achievable target for this season. It still won't be easy though!
