    Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa

Can either side get a winner? Morgan Rogers, who impressed for England in the international break last week, twists to get the ball on to the left foot, but his strike doesn't have the necessary power and is easily dealt with by home keeper Hakon Valdimarsson.

  7. 'Brighter from Rogers'published at 21:44 BST 16 September

    Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa

    Garry Thompson
Former Aston Villa forward on BBC Radio 5 Live Extra

That is a bit brighter from Morgan Rogers. He spins away from his opponent and the pass isn't quite right, but that's much brighter from him.

By the way, it was Aaron Hickey's first goal for Brentford and his first since scoring for Bologna on 24 April, 2022. The Scotland international has had a nightmare time with injuries but what a goal it was today and what a moment for him.

  13. Postpublished at 21:35 BST 16 September

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Millwall

A big chance for Millwall to take the lead, but substitute Josh Coburn, who came on at the start of the second half for Mihailo Ivanovic, could not convert.

Thierno Ballo did well to grab the ball from Will Hughes and got into the box and set up Coburn.

    Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa

    Garry Thompson

I think Elliott has shown an awful lot of composure. He has to be in the conversation to start against Sunderland.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:29 BST 16 September

    Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa

Donyell Malen and goalscorer Harvey Elliott have been taken off by Unai Emery with England internationals Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins coming on as Villa look to win this before it gets to penalties.

If it does go to spot kicks, you'd expect Watkins and Rogers to be in Villa's first five.

  16. Postpublished at 21:27 BST 16 September

    Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa

Frank Onyeka's throw-in from the right led to Brentford's goal, excellently volleyed in by Aaron Hickey after Pau Torres' header didn't have much distance on it, and another chucked Onyeka missile, this time from the left, causes more problems.

But Marco Bizot, almost under his own crossbar, manages to claw it out.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:26 BST 16 September

    Sheff Wed 0-1 Grimsby

If Grimsby can see this one over the line it will be just their second ever win at Sheffield Wednesday.

They first played at Hillsborough, then called the Owlerton Stadium, on 1 January 1900.

The League Two side make a couple more changes, Clarke Oduor and Darragh Burns are on.

Chris Richards has come on for Eagles skipper Marc Guehi, although it does not look like the England man had picked up an injury.

Frank Onyeka has a pretty decent throw on him for Brentford, but this time Marco Bizot produces some decisive goalkeeping, coming off his line to punch the ball clear of danger.
