Third-placed MK Dons are in top form at the moment and will be looking to make it five wins on the spin when they visit Bromley.

Level on points with the Dons are fourth-placed Grimsby who make the trip to Crewe with Lee Bell’s side hoping to avoid making it three defeats in a row.

Gillingham host Salford in a big game between the two play-off rivals. The Gills are fifth level on 22 points with today’s opponents who sit eighth.

Another big game takes places between two play-off hopefuls as ninth in the league (Notts County) take on tenth (Cambridge) with both sides level on 21 points. So, we could see some big shuffling up at the top end of the table come full-time.

Barnet will be looking to return to winning ways when they make the journey to face a Barrow side who are unbeaten in five games including a win at league leaders Walsall last weekend.

At the other end of the table, Crawley, who have suffered four defeats in their past five league games, welcome Bristol Rovers to the Broadfield Stadium while Newport, who slumped to the bottom of the league after losing a ninth game in their past 11 last week, make the trip to North Yorkshire to face a Harrogate side who have lost their past three games.

  17. In-form U's to continue Robins stutter?published at 14:54 BST 25 October

    Swindon v Colchester (15:00 BST)

    Aaron DrinanImage source, Shutterstock

No wins in the past two league games for Swindon now after they missed their chance to go top of League Two following their 2-2 draw against Notts County on Tuesday evening. Despite that they are just a point behind leaders Walsall and will hope that is the case come full-time at the very least. With the Saddlers losing at Cheltenham earlier, Ian Holloway's side will be desperate to capitalise.

The league’s top marksman with 10 goals, Aaron Drinan, scored a brace in that game and boss Ian Holloway will be hoping he continues his form with the Robins only tasting defeat just once at the County Ground this season.

Colchester go into this in top form having won their past three league games. Harry Anderson’s first-half hat-trick last Saturday helped the U’s see off Harrogate 3-1 in their last outing.

Danny Cowley’s side have scored 11 goals across their past three wins which is their most across a three-match spell in the EFL since their opening three games of the 2009-10 League One campaign.

    Funny thing football.

AFC Wimbledon are enjoying their best start to an EFL season at this stage with 25 points from their 13 games and find themselves in the dizzying air of fourth place.

All this after promotion was sealed on a sunny afternoon under the arch in May.

So, what's funny? Well, they haven't beaten Burton in their past nine meetings (D5 L4), scoring more than one goal in those games just the once.

Given the respective form of these two, the Dons will expect to break that run today.

Most Brewers fans are just pleased to still be in League One because at one stage last season it looked like they needed snookers to survive.

For the record, this time last season Burton were bottom of the table, without a win and with only four points to their name before Gary Bowyer entered to steer them to safety with one game to spare.

Being two places and eight points better off this time around can be called progress.

Oh, and one more thing which is funny about football - AFC's last loss was to Bolton, Burton's last win was against Bolton - it probably means nothing but just another one of those quirks.
