  1. Barnsley banking on grinding down the Millerspublished at 14:45 BST 25 October

    Barnsley v Rotherham (15:00 BST)

A general view of the inside of Barnsley's Oakwell stadiumImage source, Shuttershock

A proper South Yorkshire derby this (is there any other sort?), not that Rotherham particularly enjoy these occasions.

The Millers are winless in their past 11 meetings with Barnsley and their last victory at Oakwell came just four months before man landed on the moon!

Throw into the mix Rotherham's miserable away form of just one win from their past nine on the road and you have surely the most bankiest of home bankers, or do you? That solitary victory came on their last away trip so maybe things are about to get better.

Under rookie boss Conor Hourihane Barnsley are nicely tucked in 10th place albeit with only one win from their past five games.

It's a second successive Yorkshire derby for the Tykes and following their draw at Bradford City last weekend they are unbeaten in three local dust-ups so they go into this one as favourites.

Given all that, victory for Rotherham really would be one giant leap for Millerkind...

  2. Shoe's on the other foot for Wilshere's Luton against Cobblerspublished at 14:42 BST 25 October

    Northampton v Luton (15:00 BST)

Luton Town’s rise to the top was a swift one – but their descent has also continued to gather pace. Top of the in-tray for new boss Jack Wilshere is reversing that trend as soon as possible.

The former Arsenal and England midfielder, appointed to replace Matt Bloomfield last week, watched as his new side slid to a 2-0 defeat against Mansfield – their fourth loss in six games.

Now Wilshere’s players must look to kick-start their season after a short hop up the M1 to Sixfields, where another alarming trend needs to be overturned against Northampton Town.

Luton have lost three consecutive league meetings with the Cobblers and, to boot – so to speak – all of their last four at Sixfields. Stuart Douglas remains the last Hatters player to score a winning goal there, in February 2001.

Although Northampton are handily placed, just inside the top half of the table, they have been short on consistency – and goals. Struggling Peterborough are the only team in the division to have found the net fewer times than the Cobblers’ 10 so far this season.

  3. Unlikely pacesetters?published at 14:40 BST 25 October

Stevenage v Bradford City (15:00 BST)

A celebrating Stevenage boss Alex RevellImage source, Shuttershock

One of the smallest budgets in League One against a side freshly promoted from League Two.

    Best defence v leading scorers.

Hands up who had Stevenage in second place and Bradford third at this stage of the season?

    Don't believe you.

This is Stevenage's third season back in the third tier under Alex Revell, still considered a relatively inexperienced boss in just his second role having only previously managed, well, Stevenage.

Yet here they are, albeit coming off the back of only their second defeat of the campaign having gone down 1-0 at Lincoln last weekend.

Bradford's impressive return to League One has been fuelled by their free-scoring frontline and powered by a five-match unbeaten run which has produced three wins and 11 goals.

Can these two last the pace? Who knows, but you get the feeling they're going to enjoy trying.

With the early kick-offs in the record books, let's take a look at what's still to come on this busy Saturday.

  5. 'Bolton have to be feared now'published at 14:38 BST 25 October

    FT: Bolton 1-0 Cardiff

    Keith Hill
Former Bolton and Barnsley boss on BBC Radio Manchester

    Bolton's defensive strategy was brilliant.

Cardiff ran out of ideas and Bolton took advantage of the sloppy play from Cardiff towards the end of the game.

Bolton have got to be feared now, they're only three points behind Cardiff. They can really get momentum now.

  6. 'Completely undeserved'published at 14:37 BST 25 October

    FT: Cheltenham 1-0 Walsall

    Paul Joannou
Walsall summariser on BBC Radio WM

    Completely undeserved.

It's so frustrating. Performance wise - there's not a lot the Saddlers are doing wrong, if that continues they'll get back on track.

They look shellshocked. I think you just sensed that Cheltenham may nick it the more the game went on.

This place is a curse for Walsall.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:32 BST 25 October

    Cheltenham 1-0 Walsall

How have Walsall not won this?

Aden Flint's own goal means the league leaders suffer back-to-back defeats. What will that do to the top of the table later this evening?

But what a win this is for Cheltenham who in turn have won their past two in a row. Steve Cotterill remains undefeated in his four games back in charge.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 BST 25 October

    Fleetwood 2-1 Accrington

Fleetwood come from behind to win the Lancashire derby.

The Cod Army went in at half-time a goal down with no shots on target but goals from Ryan Graydon and Ched Evans turned the game on it's head. Graydon had the chance to add a third from the penalty spot but he was denied by Accrington keeper Ollie Wright.

Pete Wild's side are now unbeaten in their past five league games at home.

  9. 'Cheltenham heading for victory'published at 14:25 BST 25 October

    Cheltenham 1-0 Walsall

    Tom Marlow
    BBC Radio WM commentator

It's such a frustrating end to a game that Walsall should have been winning.

The home side are heading for another victory under Steve Cotterill.

    I can't believe it.

  10. goal

GOAL: Cheltenham 1-0 Walsallpublished at 14:24 BST 25 October

Aden Flint own goal (90+2 mins)

    Wow.

Cheltenham Town have looked to have won this, we're well over the three minutes of added time.

Tom Taylor's effort is saved, Walsall try to clear it but it comes off another player and it somehow ends up in the back of the net off Aden Flint. He knew nothing about it.

What an end to this game!

  11. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:24 BST 25 October

    Bolton 1-0 Cardiff

Bolton's Amario Cozier-Duberry's late magic sees off the League One leaders.

A game severely lacking in quality and goalmouth action was decided by the Brighton loanee's curling, dipping effort in the 94th minute.

Cardiff did little to suggest they came for anything other than a point and the leaders' unbeaten away record is gone and they could be off the top by close of play today.

Bolton maintain their unbeaten home record and close to within one point of the play-off spots.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:24 BST 25 October

    Mansfield 1-1 Wigan

Desperate defending by Wigan as Mansfield poured players into the box during the closing stages, but they hold on for a point that their second-half performance just about merited.

Still no away win for the Latics, but they'll feel satisfied after coming from behind to earn a draw thanks to Ollie Cooper's equaliser.

  13. 'Absolute stunner'published at 14:23 BST 25 October

    Bolton 1-0 Cardiff

    Jack Dearden
    BBC Radio Manchester commentator

    What an absolute stunner!

The man with more wizardry in his feet than Harry Potter has in his wand!

The only shot on target in the whole game, and it looks like it might be the winner!

  14. goal

GOAL Bolton 1-0 Cardiffpublished at 14:23 BST 25 October

    Amario Cozier-Duberry (90 + 4 mins)

    Unbelievable!

We've waited 94 minutes for some quality and Amario Cozier-Duberry produces it with a fine curling shot into the top corner.

    It's shocked everyone.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:21 BST 25 October

    Bolton 0-0 Cardiff

Almost for Bolton, but not quite.

Amario Cozier-Duberry's fierce effort is saved by Nathan Trott.

Josh Sheehan is cautioned for the home side for an off-the-ball incident.

  16. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 25 October

A minimum of six minutes added on at Highbury Stadium.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 14:20 BST 25 October

    Cheltenham 0-0 Walsall

    Another chance for Walsall.

Courtney Clarke hits one from distance with Joe Day tipping it over. The resulting corner sees Evan Weir and Jid Okeke combine well and Okeke then hits one off the bar.

Will the Saddlers rue these missed chances?

  18. 'Don't let Cheltenham nick it'published at 14:20 BST 25 October

    Cheltenham 0-0 Walsall

    Paul Joannou
Walsall summariser on BBC Radio WM

You just don't want to give Cheltenham any confidence.

They'll be relieved it's 0-0 at this stage in the game, but they might now be thinking they can nick it.

  19. Postpublished at 14:19 BST 25 October

    Bolton 0-0 Cardiff

We will have an additional four minutes.

Thoughts are turning to finding somewhere warm at full time...

  20. Postpublished at 14:19 BST 25 October

    Mansfield 1-1 Wigan

Mansfield are finishing the game the stronger of the sides, with Tyler Roberts brought down on the edge of the box for a free-kick that Aaron Lewis fired over the bar.

Roberts is off the field now, but his replacement Max Dickov has just gone close with a close-range attempt that was deflected behind.

Is there another goal left in this one?
