Arsenal boss Renee Slegers, speaking on Disney+: "I think when we came back from international break, the team has come back in a good way with so much hunger and a willingness and an investment, and you could feel it the day they came back. A good performance against Leicester and a big game against Chelsea. Disappointed to not get a win but there were so many positives to take from that game, which you want to build on."

On naming an unchanged team: "Get some consistency in the partnerships. There are different ways you can think. It's a short turnaround, you don't get a long time train but we have starters on the pitch and we have finishers, so we know that we're going to need every tonight."

On Katie Reid's ACL injury: "It's so disappointing for Katie first and foremost because she's a young player, she was building something. This is broken now, so she built momentum and she has to do a surgery, I think it's tomorrow. It will take time for her to get back, but she was accepting the situation at the moment."

Bayern Munich midfielder Georgia Stanway will take on a number of familiar faces against Arsenal tonight.

The England international used to play for Manchester City in the Women's Super League.

Arsenal boss Renee Slegers said Stanway is a "great player" who is "important" for Bayern.

Speaking in her pre-match news conference, Slegers said: "I think she's very important for Bayern as we see it. They like to get her on the ball. She tries in those moments to be able to conduct play and she has an intelligence on the pitch. I think what stands out is that she has a short and a long pass, and that's something she likes to use in games.

"I think she's a really good player. From the outside, from watching, you can see that she brings some fight as well in duels, and likes to defend as well.

"I think in the situation that they're in - and also before this situation - as I see it from the outside, she’s an important player for Bayern on the pitch."

This sides met in December last year, with Arsenal coming out on top as 3-2 victors in a thriller.

It helped them to top their group and continued an excellent run under them-interim boss Renee Slegers.

Slegers said that game was a "big part of our journey as a team" and that Bayern will pose a similar threat today.

"It's less than a year ago we played against them. They still have quite some players that are similar with their qualities. I think they still pose the same threat from set-pieces, for example, and how they create," Slegers said in her pre-match news conference.

"They're a really good team. They rotate and they try to create problems for the opposition. So I have very high respect for Bayern because we know the last two games they played against them were very tight.

So I look forward to the game. We look forward to the challenge. I think it's two really good teams going against each other tomorrow. "

Since suffering a 7-1 thrashing at Barcelona in their first Champions League game of the season, Bayern have enjoyed a successful couple of weeks.

They have won all six of their games in all competitions since defeat on 7 October, scoring 24 goals in the process.

That loss against Barcelona is the only blot on their record so far, with Bayern currently sitting six points clear in first place in Germany's top flight, unbeaten from their first 10 games.

  7. Can Arsenal keep up form?published at 17:27 GMT

Bayern Munich v Arsenal (17:45 GMT)

Albeit we are still early in the season, Arsenal's fortunes appear to be improving.

At one point, they had gone four games without a win. Now, they are unbeaten in their past four.

Their form turned around in the game following their Champions League opener - a defeat by Lyon - with them beating Brightn before being successful against Barcelona in Europe.

They will feel as if they should have won at the weekend when they instead held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw and controversially had a goal disallowed.

Renee Slegers will be looking to maintain this better run this evening.

Chelsea were in action in the Women's Champions League last night:

Sam Kerr scored twice on her first Chelsea start in almost two years as they cruised to victory against St Polten.

After missing several earlier chances, the Australian striker finished from close range in the 75th minute to claim her side's fourth goal, and headed home her second in added time.

A 13th-minute Wieke Kaptein strike and two from the impressive Catarina Macario had put Chelsea in control against their Austrian opponents.

And Lauren James also made an impact off the bench in a fifth goal for Sonia Bompastor's side four minutes from time.
