    Netherlands secured their place in the semi-final having won Group B, taking on Germany, Spain and Republic of Ireland in the process. Netherlands opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw with Germany, having scored a 90th minute equaliser. Their second group game was also a tight affair with another late goal helping them to secure a 1-0 win over Spain. Netherlands' final group game was more straight forward - a 2-0 victory over Republic of Ireland to top Group B.

    A strong start to group A for concluded with a 1-0 defeat to England, meaning Les Bleus qualified for the semi-finals as runners-up in group A. Their other two group games saw France open the tournament with a 3-1 win over Serbia, followed by a resounding 6-0 victory over tournament hosts Lithuania.
