The difference for me at the moment is the pace of the pass. Liverpool seem to sit on the ball a little bit longer than Man City. City know where they want to go and can manipulate other players.

That really should be 1-0 to Man City. Bunny Shaw plays the ball through to Kerstin Casparij but her shot is straight at Rafaela Borgraffe.

The keeper does well to get her whole body behind it but Casparij should do better.

Liverpool boss Gareth Taylor will be happy with how dangerous his side are looking on the counter but they're lacking that final pass and clinical touch in the box.

Mia Enderby or Cornelia Kapocs is going to have to convert one of these chances because they're not going to get many.

Liverpool give the ball away. Man City advance through Bunny Shaw with Vivianne Miedema waiting in the middle. Last gasp defending spares the home side's blushes. Rinse. Repeat.

My BBC colleague Jo Currie has just been told that Maelys Mpome is still at Emirates Stadium in the changing room with her Brighton team mates, and is doing ok.

Mpome left the field on the stretcher with an oxygen mask and head brace after taking a ball to the face during today's game.

Enderby's got to stay hungry today - she's going to get frustrated, she's going to do a lot of running and keep chasing the ball down. When you do press you get rewards so it keeps her hungry to press and press and press and it keeps those legs a little bit fresher.

Man City are getting closer and closer.

Jenna Clark gives the ball away to Vivianne Miedema and only a sharp stop with her legs from Rafaela Borgraffe keeps the score at 0-0.

Later in the move, the ball bounces back out to Miedema in front of goal but she completely mistimes her attempt.

Liverpool are trying to play it from the back but Man City, led by Bunny Shaw, are keeping a very high press.

The only way to relieve the pressure is for Grace Fisk to hoof it into space down the right wing.

One-way traffic at the moment.

Liverpool need to stay switched on and ride this wave, hopefully get the ball back, keep possession for a little bit but it's all Manchester City attacking at the moment.

Dear me, Liverpool can't do that. Marie Hobinger gives the ball away cheaply in the box, inviting yet more pressure from Man City.

They don't capitalise on this occasion but a weak clearance opens the door for another wave.

Good save from Liverpool goalkeeper Rafaela Borggrafe, who gets her fingertips to a dipping shot from Vivianne Miedema.

Man City have a corner but Bunny Shaw heads over.

It's going to be interesting to see Man City's midfield runs. Someone else instead of Bunny Shaw and Miedema because they're going to be picked up.

Liverpool need to be switched on to that third, fourth person run.

In quick succession, Kerstin Casparij and Vivianne Miedema ping crosses in from the right flank for Man City.

Liverpool captain Grace Fisk is alert to the danger on both occasions.

Liverpool are going to have to put a shift in defensively.

Bunny Shaw is muscling her way past defenders and with every move the hosts shut down, Man City recycle the ball and attack again.

Liverpool struggled to make it out of their half for the first couple of minutes but they're enjoying a good spell of possession after some sloppy defending from Man City.

A loose pass briefly opens the door for Mia Enderby but she can't get onto it fast enough.

Man City have an early sight of goal, Laura Blindkilde Brown firing wide from the edge of the box.

Worryingly for Liverpool, it was in-form forward Bunny Shaw who orchestrated that move. She's in the mood.

Matches have been coming fast and furious today.

And it's Bunny Shaw who gets things under way for Man City at Anfield.

Man City forward Bunny Shaw is a WSL goal machine.

She scored a league-leading 21 goals in 18 appearances in 2023-24 before retaining her golden boot the following season. Despite only making 14 appearances, her 12 goals were enough to share the award with Arsenal’s Alessia Russo.

This season, with her injuries behind her, she’s back to her goal-scoring best, finding the back of the net four times in five matches and also popping up with on assist.

And unfortunately for Liverpool, Man City’s star forward loves nothing more than scoring against the Reds. Shaw has scored multiple goals in each of her last four WSL appearances against Liverpool, registering nine goals.
